Hi, I’m Jen

I’m a traveller and online content creator from England. Although I’m English I have actually lived more outside of England than in it. I grew up in a town near Amsterdam in The Netherlands where I attended International Schools so I’ve always been very influenced by other cultures and languages around me. Being in a class with students from over 30 different countries has that effect on you. Another big influence for me growing up was my amazing grandfather who traveled around the world, from Antarctica to Australia he was always off on an adventure or sailing his yacht to faraway lands. I used to sit on his knee and listen to his travel stories with my mouth open in amazement & he definitely sparked my love for all things travel from a very young age.

After travelling to Turkey for a Summer job in 2007, I met my now husband and moved to a seaside resort on the Aegean coast of Turkey. In 2011 I bought an iPhone 3GS, downloaded an app called Instagram and documented my travels around Turkey, editing & uploading them to Instagram.

These days pretty much everyone sells their presets on Instagram, but we were the very first people to do that in the form of an editing app. My Husband is an app developer so in 2012 he created Deluxe FX app for editing your travel photos on the go. We turned Instagram into a full time job then and started to work with hotels, brands and tourism boards around the world to showcase amazing destinations and countries.

My most asked Questions…

WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

I’m English! I was born in Essex, grew up in The Netherlands, moved to Turkey and now home is back in the beautiful countryside of West Sussex on the South Coast of England.

WHAT CAMERA DO YOU USE?

A Sony a74 and a Sony a7c for all of my photos and some of my videos. I also my iPhone 15 pro for 99% of my video content as thats the one I always have with me!

WHAT DO YOU EDIT YOUR PHOTOS WITH?

I use Lightroom and my own ‘izkiz’ app which is available on the Apple App Store. It has filters and overlays perfect for all your travel photos.

WHAT DOES IZKIZ MEAN?

When I started instagram in 2011 I wanted a short, catchy name. It’s random but ‘iz’ comes from the first 2 letters of the city in Turkey that I was living in & ‘Kiz’ meaning girl in Turkish.

A little Chora appreciation post because Folegandr A little Chora appreciation post because Folegandros really does have one of the prettiest 💙 I took approximately 847 photos there (and I still don’t think I took enough 🙈)

Every few steps there’s another ridiculously pretty corner: a blue door, a burst of bougainvillea, a tiny church, a sleepy square or one of those perfectly whitewashed Cycladic streets that makes you stop mid-walk for another photo.

Come late afternoon, grab a table in one of the squares, order something cold and watch Chora slowly fill up for the evening. 🇬🇷
Some places are beautiful. Some places make you fe Some places are beautiful. Some places make you feel different. Kimolos did both. 💙

I don’t know if it was the slow mornings, swimming in that impossibly blue Aegean, the quiet little beaches, or simply having nowhere else I needed to be… but something about this island made me feel completely at peace.

I’ve been lucky enough to see so many beautiful places over the years, but every now and then, one gets under my skin in a way I can’t quite explain. The kind of place I leave already knowing I’ll come back to.

And somehow, more often than not, it’s a tiny Greek island that does it. 🇬🇷

Kimolos, you really were something special. 💙

warm sea, blue skies, long lunches, fewer crowds and absolutely no interest in acknowledging that autumn exists yet.

SAVE THIS for your Amalfi Coast trip 🇮🇹🍋💙 One of SAVE THIS for your Amalfi Coast trip 🇮🇹🍋💙

One of those places that somehow looks even better in real life…pastel villages tumbling down the cliffs, tiny beaches tucked into coves, lemon groves everywhere, boats dotted across ridiculously blue water and some of the most beautiful views in Italy. 😍

If the Amalfi Coast is on your list, here are a few places you absolutely shouldn’t miss 👇🏼

📍 POSITANO
The postcard Amalfi Coast view you’ve seen a million times and yes, it really does look like that. Wander the little streets, walk down to Spiaggia Grande, explore the boutiques, stop for a drink overlooking the sea and head out on a boat for the BEST views.

🍋 AMALFI
Spend a few hours wandering the historic centre, visit the incredible Duomo di Amalfi, explore the tiny streets behind the main square and obviously stop for a lemon granita served inside one of those enormous Amalfi lemons.

🌿 RAVELLO
Head up into the mountains for some of the most spectacular views on the entire coast. Don’t miss Villa Rufolo and the gardens of Villa Cimbrone, especially the Terrace of Infinity, suspended high above the Mediterranean.

💦 FIORDO DI FURORE
A tiny beach hidden inside a dramatic gorge beneath one of the Amalfi Coast’s most recognisable bridges. Definitely worth adding to your route.

⛵ SEE THE COAST FROM THE WATER
If you do ONE thing, make it a boat day. Cruise past Positano, Amalfi, hidden caves and little beaches you’d never see from the road, stopping to swim in that ridiculously blue water along the way.

🍝 EAT YOUR WAY AROUND THE COAST
Spaghetti alle vongole, fresh seafood, pizza, gelato, delizia al limone… and basically anything involving Amalfi lemons. This is not the place to be counting calories!!! 😂

🍋 TRY THE LIMONCELLO
You’ll see lemons EVERYWHERE, growing on terraces above the towns, hanging over little streets and piled high outside shops. Limoncello after dinner is practically compulsory.

The Amalfi Coast is busy. It’s chaotic. It’s expensive…..And I’d go back tomorrow! 💙🍋
