Athens is a bit like Marmite. People seem to eithe Athens is a bit like Marmite. People seem to either absolutely love it or really, really don’t… and I am firmly in the love camp. 🇬🇷 Yes, it’s chaotic, a little rough around the edges and definitely not the prettiest European city at first glance, but that’s kind of what I love about it. Ancient ruins casually sitting between busy streets, little neighbourhood tavernas, rooftop bars overlooking the Acropolis, incredible food, late nights and that unmistakable Athens energy. Every time I come back, I like it even more. Morning coffees with a view, wandering the tiny streets, long lunches, too much pasta, boat days and stopping every five minutes because somehow every corner is prettier than the last.
