What’s your favourite city? I have a few but Ist

What’s your favourite city? I have a few but Istanbul is definitely in my top 5 🕌🧿🐈 It’s a city like no other, it spans two continents; Europe and Asia and has something to explore around every corner. It’s full of history, culture and there’s so much to do, see and eat!

I have been there more time than I can count and I still find new things to discover on each visit. Here are a few of my must-do’s in Istanbul if you’ve never been before:

1. 🕌 Visit the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque
2. 💦 Go down to the Basilica Cistern
3. ✨ Drink a Turkish coffee in one of the rooftop cafes in Sultanahmet
4. 🛍️ Get lost in the Grand Bazaar
5. ☕️ Watch the sunset at Kiz Kulesi whilst sipping on Turkish tea
6. 🚢 Go on a boat trip down the Bosphorus Strait
7. 🌈 Wander around the instagrammable streets of Balat
8. 🌶️ Explore the colourful Spice bazaar
9. 🗼Climb up Galata Tower and enjoy 360 degree views of the city
10. 🐠 Eat the best grilled fish wrap you’ll ever have at Balik Ekmeki Mehmet Usta in Karaköy.

Some foods to try:

1. 🍕 Lahmacun: A thin, crispy flatbread is topped with minced meat, vegetables, and herbs, perfect for a quick bite & one of my favourite Turkish foods!

2. 🐠 Fish Sandwich (Balık Ekmek): Freshly grilled fish served on bread with lettuce and onions, typically found along the shores of the Bosphorus.

3 🌯 Kebabs: Savor a variety of Turkish kebabs, from the famous doner to skewered shish kebabs, served with flavorful spices and fresh vegetables.

4. 🍬 Baklava: Indulge in the sweet layers of flaky pastry, filled with chopped nuts and soaked in honey or syrup, a beloved Turkish dessert.
